Azeema Yasin
Partner | LedgerZee Accounting and Tax Consultants
Azeema Yasin is a Partner at LedgerZee Accounting and Tax Consultants with over 20 years of experience across public accounting and private industry. Her background spans real estate and investment management, hotels and catering, and pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing.
Azeema oversees teams responsible for fund accounting, compliance, and corporate reporting for distressed and opportunistic debt and equity real estate funds. She brings deep expertise in financial and tax accounting, with a particular focus on partnerships.
Prior to joining LedgerZee, Azeema served as a C-suite executive at a mid-sized real estate and investment firm, where she played a key role in scaling finance operations and improving reporting efficiency.
Accounting Leadership & Operations
- Leadership of core accounting functions including general ledger, close, consolidations, inventory and cost accounting, fixed assets, payroll, and statutory reporting
- Development and mentorship of accounting teams with scalable processes and accountability
- Cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, Operations, and Legal
- Support for private equity sponsors and board-level reporting
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Ownership of monthly and quarterly close processes
- Delivery of accurate, timely financial statements
- Establishment and enhancement of accounting policies and internal controls in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Oversight of complex accounting judgments, estimates, and reserves
- Preparation of executive- and board-level reporting materials
Compliance & External Relationships
- Primary liaison with external auditors and technical accounting advisors
- Oversight of tax, regulatory, and lender reporting compliance
- Review of contracts and financing arrangements for accounting implications
Growth & Special Projects
- Support for acquisitions, integrations, and strategic initiatives
- Leadership in system implementations, automation, and process improvements
- Design of reporting and consolidation structures for multi-entity organizations
Earlier in her career, Azeema re-engineered financial reporting processes within private equity and real estate environments, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and accelerating reporting timelines. She also brings prior experience from the pharmaceutical, medical device, and hospitality industries.
